Luke 23:56-24:1 "And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them." Posts: 401 05/28/06 15:17:29	I think Waterrock's answer would be simple: they bought the spices on two different occassions, once before the Sabbath and once after. Actually there's a simple answer. The use of the word "had" in Mark indicates that the purchase was already completed by the time the Sabbath was over. If God wanted us to be Atheists we'd be born that way.

They got there somewhere around dawn after the Sabbath, so it seems unlikely that any shops would be open yet for them to buy anything. Also, as I understand it, Mark's Greek was not the best in the world, so he may have simply written things in a confusing manner. Funny how the Holy Spirit could make his Greek better. If God wanted us to be Atheists we'd be born that way.
