For the section "Does God approve of slavery?" I have found what I think is a good quotation. In Matt. 10:24-5 Jesus says: "The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?" Jesus, instead of condoning slavery, seems to support it by using a parable in which it is used. So it seems Jesus, and God, think slavery is okay.
