Posts: 62 10/20/06 16:17:09	Tags : None How many men did the chief of David's captains kill? 300 2 Samuel 23:6 The ... chief among the captains ... he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time. 800 1 Chronicles 11:11 the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time. This is an extremely simple contradiction. It is talking about two different men, the one in 2 samual is Josheb-Bassahebeth a tahkemonite and he is cheif of the three. The one from first chronicles is Jashobeam, a hacmonite who is chief of the officers. Most of these contradictions are simple mistakes and i plan on renouncing most of them as often as i can. I am a christian and understand how moronic most of these "contradictions" and "absurdities" are. Thank you

Is this meant to be as insulting as it sounds? For something to be a contradiction it implies either a mistake or a lie by the author(s). Since we can't interview the author(s) there's no way of really knowing. I've been through this before, and I acknowledge that all we can really only say they are potential or possible contradictions, and of course if we assume they are not contradictions we can always come up with an explanation for why they aren't. Like others before you what you have done here is show that a possible explanation exists but you have fallen short of demonstrating it's necessarily true. Unless I assume it's true first. By saying their are mistakes in the bible you are saying God makes mistakes which is impossible and totally goes against the Bible. Also i must apologize. I didn' mean to call anyone in specific moronic, i meant the contradictions and absurdities wre moronic as most of them are simple mistakes. Usually the verse is either taken out of context or the person just read the first few words of a verse and didn't bother to read the rest. Thank You, Tyler
