of christianity. One that sticks out in my mind is Mark 16:17&18
16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
We have some obscure Christian sects that follow these verses to the letter. Then we have groups like the pentecostals that look to Acts to help justify doing some of the things listed here.
Then we have others that seem to simply ignore both verses. So why is there such a large degree of seperation here? How do the nonconfomists justify ignoring what is clearly written?
I already know their reasons but even these are at odds. So if your a Christian could you explain where you stand on these verses and why? Just curious
Lastly there is an explanation that I have yet to hear a Christian use that doesn't involve "these verses were not found in some of the copies of Mark" or
"These are things that only happened during those times" So try and be creative please.
Sorry my spell check never seems to work on here.
