The book of Daniel contains many amazing prophecies, all of which were fulfilled. One of the most amazing of these is the prediction in Daniel 9:24-27 of when The Messiah's ministry and death would occur, which prediction was fulfilled by Jesus. Below are two websites that explain how Jesus fulfilled this astounding prophecy. Nehemiah 2 indicates that this happened in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, which most historians would agree was 445/444 B.C. He is a well-known king, the son of the famous Xerxes who attacked Greece in the Persian Wars. 69x7 or 483 years overshoots the year of Jesus' death by about 7 years, but if you consider that Daniel who wrote during the time of the Babylonians was probably considering Babylonian years which have only 360 days in a year, the 483 years become 476 Babylonian years, which added to 445/444 B.C. give you 33 A.D., when Jesus died. In any case, the astounding thing is that the time predicted is right around the time Jesus died. Make sure you consider the two websites I listed above in conjunction with what I just wrote, for there are many things I did not discuss about this prophecy here because they are discussed on those two websites. I have studied the whole Bible carefully for many years, and I realize now that it is all true, although I used to be a skeptic before I began to study it carefully.
