Yes Waterrock; prayer is a very interesting subject. Myself, I do use the "Lord's Prayer as a mainstay, thinking on his words, "Do not pray thinking to be heard for your much speaking but rather pray "Our Father..." and etc. For your Father in heaven knows of what you have need already. But I do ocassionally make a point of intercession for others in distress as the ocassion presents itself, which I think is fit.
I believe that if ones name is written in the Lords "Book Of Life" then prayer is surely warranted. Rather than to possibly err by praying for one from whom even God has turned away, I try to carefully screen my targeted prayers and I pray then to strengthen the good part and not the bad part of any soul. Actually, I have seen some astounding results here and there as the situation has permitted, gradual and subtile but all in all somewhat of a miracle I must say. I am not "Called" to Preach and although I feel able, neither to Teach, nevertheless I always stand ready.
Any who are hungry or curious about "The Word" are to me "Sent" and I will always point "The Way". But I am careful to never prosolite, as I constantly measure their spiritual strength to guide my efforts. For most are just curious and pass quickly on after a few questions, because I do not forbear the Truth of the Gospel in any wise but to be gentle and feed small doses. But I do also try to encourage more questions by tact with my answers.
We who enter these forums, as I would hope, are are all true believers led by that Good Spirit and a restless hunger, to share what we have to the glory of God. It is a lonely path for me as I trust no man. But I continue to work out my own salvation and seek to share what I have with others of like thought. It is sufficient!
