Right, the nutritional / tastiness `goodness' of fish is not like the moral `goodness' of humans. But the point of the analogy was that gathering fish was like gathering humans; and if there are good fish you keep and bad fish you throw away then surely so too with people! The bad ones rejected and who is accepted - the GOOD ones. Or else why the analogy?
As for WHY they are good and what sort of goodness it is, that is besides the point. The bible should have made all the explanations - if indeed your interpretation is correct - clearer.
