Countless biblical historians/authors {including Laurence Gardner} say that Jesus was the physical child of Joeseph and Mary.
This would put him in line to be King of the Jews, aka the Christ of the Jews. A direct decendant of David and Abraham. |

That puts the inerrancy of the bible face down into the toilet. |

The virgin birth thing was just a rhetorical flourish, to put Jesus on equal or better footing with Zoroaster. (IMHO)

Paul doesn't mention the virgin birth. Neither does the
first gospel, Mark. AFAIK only Matthew and Luke mention it, which I think is curious. I have not been able to confirm this, but I read somewhere that the original versions of Mt and Lk don't have the virgin birth in them. The VB is an interpolation in those gospels. The greek in the VB stories is a later version of greek supposedly. |
