Quote:
I think we're still missing a night here. Let's break it down:
1) Part of Friday day = day 1
2) Friday night = night 1
3) Saturday day = day 2
4) Saturday night = night 2
5) Sunday morning = day 3
I believe that the jews count the night before the day as the begining of the day. For instance, when the sun sets on friday, that begins saturday night however we would call it friday night.
Waterrock states that the jews did count the entire day/night if something happened in any part of the day or night.
If so, then what waterrock purposes will still stand.
It would break down like this:
Jesus in the tomb before sundown friday (1 night and 1 day).
Jesus still in the tomb saturday night (1 night).
Jesus still in the tomb saturday day (1 day).
Jesus still in the tomb after sundown saturday but resurrected before sunup sunday(1 night and 1 day).
Now don't get me wrong, I do not support this explaintion. It's just it will work if Waterrock is correct on how the jews figure time.
I'm on vacation right now so I don't have my research material with me; however, I'll address this contradiction when I get back home.
