Umm, Paul was a freak and if I remember correctly, he never met Jesus {the living human-esque type thingy}. Or was it Peter or both?! ANYWAY

In your question you clearly state that Jesus says one thing and Paul says completely the opposite.

"Secondly"

Paul is trying to be "seen by men", which contradicts what Jesus already said.

"Thirdly"

Who cares what Paul said, to be a christian is about listening to what Jesus Christ said, not some flunky.

At work, do you listen to the fry cook or the guy that graduated Hamburger U?!

"Another sub-question"

You are making up to much stuff to end this contradiction. We know what Jesus said and we know what Paul said. They contradict each other.

No matter what you claim that might or might not have been the case with "prayer" {none of which can be proven} Jesus said not to pray in public.

You hate many of the books I have quoted because they {as you claim} make stuff up to suit their own needs, well Mr Pot meet Mr Kettle.

"And secondly, I think we must admit that the discussion of these disputed points has no tendency at all to bring an outsider into the Christian fold. So long as we write and talk about them we are much more likely to deter him from entering any Christian communion than to draw him into our own. Our divisions should never be discussed except in the presence of those who have already come to believe that there is one God and that Jesus Christ is His only Son" - C.S. Lewis
