However, while our brains might be fooled, by the water, we know what causes that effect (the disinclination to respond to a continual nerve input), and a thermometer is not similarly fooled. While people may disagree about their preference for a room, the measurements of that room are objectively verifiable.
Sure, some people interpret their surrounding as evidence for God, but this does not mean their surroundings provide objectively verifiable evidence for God.
