Watterock, how can you possibly suggest any dilution of the utterly clear message of 2 Cor. 6:14? Paul makes a very broad universal admonition of segregation here (light and dark!)- nothing as micro- specific as you imply.
So... this is yet another irrelevant verse (just like Mosaic Law... well, it's all a "salad bar" as someone effectively put it). Funny how all the contradictory and/or distasteful verses are supposedly anachronistic misinterpretations. How many "comforting" verses are misinterpreted anachronistically? Why in the world are Paul's letters (and the OT- any of it really, but especially Paul's letters) considered God's word if there is so much anachronistic vulnerability? God couldn't clearly write down His will (don't say it's clear- remember all of the differing Christian sects and doctrine changes over time) Himself like He did in Exod. 31:18 with His finger, in a durable fashion and in an unambiguous language that supercedes misinterpretation due to cultural, linguistic, and temporal differences? Is that too much to expect??!!! Clearly communicating His will is His goal, RIGHT? And He's omniscient and omnipotent, right????
