OK, I won't use it but it still seems to me to be more likely that the Jesus myth grew out of earlier mythologies. Since Dyonysus, the Greek influence on the Jesus myth, was nailed to a tree, I find it very likely that the original story featured Jesus nailed to a tree and later it was elaborated until it became a Roman execution.

However, all that's speculation to form the most likely explaination given the pieces of the puzzle.

In any event, it's an example of anti-Semitism in the NT. Here we have the source of the "Christ-killer" myth.
