Squish the spider? The spider did nothing wrong. That would be like blaming the victim for you looking at them. This is typical of the bible teachings. Not to mention the Koran. Blame the victim. Try going around the cobweb instead of blaming the spider for YOUR actions. Killing the spider is not a good example.

Wow, you seemingly missed the point of his comment, which expalins your quote-mine iof his paragraph. No; I don't think so. Meaning that the physical body parts are not the problem; the problem resides within the individual's nature, which needs to be transformed/renewed. In the metaphor, the spider is the man's nature. How's how supposed to metaphorically go around it? With formal systems, such as mathematics, you can have certainty and demonstrability, but not reality. With science, such as physics, you can have reality and demonstrability, but not certainty.
