Evolution is as proven as religionI don't think any of the atheists here doubt the fact that evolution occurs or that religion exists. It is the beliefs that various religions have adopted that have not been proven.
In fact the Quran stories are backed up by geological evidence. Obvious traces of Noah's floodthough not the arch. Moses' splitting of the Red Sea is actually plausible. Russian mathematicians produced a paper that explained that if there was a 30 kilometer blowing in a particular direction I can't remember which, the red sea would actually appear to be split because of a shallow section in the Red Sea (this I haven't yet looked into any further). Ad and Sodom and Gomora are all proven.Your standard of proof is appallingly low.
There is one problem to my theory though.More than one, actually.
A friend of mine brought up the fact that 7 heavens can be the 7 layers of the ozoneWhat are you talking about? I've never heard of such a thing.
Human development is one hell of a coincidence though. As pessimistic and skeptical I am about such things I personally have no explanation on how it's depicted so perfectly 1400 years ago. One incredibly lucky guess is the best I can personally come up with feel free to help out. Please be specific, what do you mean? What was the lucky guess?
Now evolution on the other hand is based on nothing but conjecture and most of the idea's behind it have actually been shot down.Ok, now I know you are a looney. Evolution is a fact. It has been observed in nature and in petri dishes in laboratories. It relies on three things:-
- reproduction with variation
- inheritance of traits
- natural selection
Evolution being such a weak theory does NOTmean that God exists. I'm just surprised at how people can believe so strongly in something that's as "baseless" as religion (if not more) and then mock those who believe in religion.Evolution has nothing to do with the existence or non-existence of a god or gods. But because evolution is a fact any religion that is based on beliefs that refute it must be wrong.
As an aside, it really disturbs me at some fundamental level that religion can so distort a person's faculties that they feel compelled to deny reality. If it is powerful enough to do this it is no wonder that it can be used to create terrorists and suicide bombers.
PS: I'm not singling out Islam here. The two other Abrahamic religions are historically just as bad. Religion and terror have gone hand in hand over the centuries.
