The census of "all the world" was of Roman citizens only - and would not have been of concern to Joseph. The census of Judea, that of Quirinius - a
different census - cannot be reconciled with Herod being dead when this took place. In any case, at that time Nazareth, in Galilee, was not part of the region
Quirinius controlled - and so again, the census would not have included Josephus. Nor would any Roman census require him to move from where he was living and
working - Nazareth - to his ancestral origin - Bethlehem.
The whole story is bogus.

It's amazing what you can find, but by far the best thing for me is the ability to go to the actual source texts with ease. How I managed before I could go
online to look at what Nennius, Tacitus, Dio, Josephus or Pliny actually said I have no idea.
Although my library is also extensive as I still find there is something to be said of having a pile of books around you, each filled with little slips of paper marking pages, as well as highlighted sections and notes in the margins...

Well the Roman channel fleet was supposed to be painted a kind of blue-green, to match the sea, apparently.

Rambo123UK wrote: Tsk..tsk..tsk....you are letting actual history interfere with a fantastic bireme paint job. In the absence of colour photos from 30AD I have gone to the
next best reference, Ray Harryhausen 1960s stop animated films. ( In reality I assume "run of the mill" military boats were painted in whatever
preserved the wood as there seem to many examples where fleets are quickly made to repel an invading force and this suggests to me there was no time for
painting)
