Hmm, I re-read Article 2 from my original post, and it does say "he attended Mass held on campus".
If they literally mean "on campus" as in on university property, then that changes my view on the situation because it is on public property. It's not the best way to protest, but if they're on public land, they're open to being protested against.
If they just mean it's a private church close to campus (at some universities people say "on campus" to refer to buildings and businesses right by the university campus), then it's still private property. I'll have to look to see if I can find out for sure.
