It's about a continuation of nanny's rant against Islam. Of course nanny sees no such problems with christianity, just Islam. It's an ongoing
thing, but nanny can't see how hypocritical his criticism of a "dark age" religion is. All religion is outdated superstition, Islam is no more
evil than christianity, another sexist dark age offensive superstition.
Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

Actually, Rambo, I find much undesirable inside some of Christianity.
But why should I, a Christian, do the tearing down of those who are trying to deepen their personal relationship with their creator? After all, a Bible writer noted that Christians will disagree about some things, matters of conscience....and no one Christian ought to impose his or her conscience upon the other. However, Islam has NO central controlling authority, no Rome, no Council of Churches, nothing even like that. In Islam, on the other hand, every single imam, ulema, ayatollah, cleric, mufti, sheik and teacher may impose his will on those over whom he wields power. It is a ''religion'' of might makes right. So many of the Muslims I respect are cut off from the rest of their families, their tribes, their home countries. Maybe that is behind what helped them begin thinking for themselves. After all, you might value coming to and holding your own opinion. (I know I do.) But that is a crime worthy of death to express such a personal opinion inside of many Muslim countries. If shining the light on Saudi Arabia's misogynistic law (well, really Sharia law) worked to stop a few deaths of women so far, why NOT keep doing it? Obviously the Saudi rulers know they are misogynists or they'd thumb their noses at the world and kill every female rape victim in the place. |

"Islam has NO central controlling authority"
Neither does Judaism, but I don't see you ripping it to shit. Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

All 3 religions claim prophets.
Judaism stops before Jesus and Islam has one after Jesus. Both christianity and islam follow the teachings of the final prophet of their religion. "If Homosexuals went back into the closet, then there would be no more Homosexuality in this world" - Tom DeLay, former US Congressman R-TX {quit in disgrace} "Banning abortions would stop quite a few from taking place in this country."
