Well the Islamic culture did invent the numeral system we use, and they did provide quite a number of advancements in science. After all they had the advantage of the Byzantine portion of the Roman empire lasting longer and able to provide an impetus for those advancements.


It was all going quite well for them too, right up until a bunch of "heathens"" decided to declare a holy war on them and thus made the "scholars" fall out , in favor of the blood thirsty.

The plus sign isn't a cross and in point of fact Muslims didn't event either one. Just the numeral system and the simple math system that came before them.

I suppose that we could do either one using Roman numerals.

How exactly do you translate a numeral?

Either way the form that was brought back by the "barbarians" was the one that took hold and ended up becoming what we know of as the Numeral system. After all it's not like the "heathens" decided to sack and burn Indian cities in the name of God now is it?

They had some inventions, but in all actuality what they did best was keep the Roman discoveries like medicine and science alive for longer. Indeed, it was those medicines and sciences that some "barbarians" brought back with them. It helped to create an Enlightenment in those "barbaric" countries...

Why do I not trust your source? Well even if it is straight up you're still forgetting that the Muslims shunned all science and technology in favor of religious extremism when the invading hordes came to their shores in a wave of "holy" war...
