I guess you were never in the military. Most people don't give a damn about the C-i-C, but they will do basically whatever their Commanding Officer tells them.
Quote:
Ideally, the captain should always conform to moral orders from the Commander-in-Chief, but if they differ, the Commander-in-Chief outranks the captain and thats all there is to that.
The C-i-C {anyone for that matter} can be disobeyed if he/she gives an immoral order. That was the main point of the Nuremburg {sp?} trials.
I know that King George the Stupid doesn't agree and that is why he pulled the US out of the World Court. I do find it odd that most christians support this, since it basically removes any accountability for human rights violations. Christians should support human rights, not be against them.
Christians scream about so called human rights violations {ie muslim countries where christianity is outlawed} in other parts of the world, yet are willing to accept that the US isn't obligated by the same standards. Ironically, christians want the US to become a theocracy that only allows christianity.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me. -- Emo Philips
