Woops, heheh, you're right of course. I forgot the historic point of view: Jude could have been wrong with his interpretation, since it was written something like a few centuries later.

I was kinda simply referring to the fundamentalist view. You know, if a bible thumper tells you homosexuality is wrong because the sodomites were cursed for it, and that we must believe it cause every syllable in the bible is the word of god, then you can point out to him that that would mean Jude was right too, so it was simply forbidden to have sex with angels.

You're right, they might not have known they were angels. But I wonder if that would have changed anything. Seems to me the God of the old testament is strict enough to even punish you for that.

Yes, I know that there were other passages condemning homosexuality as well. What works against that is to just show him passages from the same chapter that are cruel, unlogic or outdated, and say: "If you believe that passage, you'd also have to believe these." E.g. bashing gays based on the Leviticus passage would require you to also never eat pork or rabbit, never to shave your beard, etc.
