Quote:Greek prophecies of doom were often fulfilled in unexpected ways. In fact, that was the tragedy of the, no matter how one tried, one could not escape the forewarned doom.
But thats the thing about prophecies: they are capable of being fulfilled in unexpected ways.
But the prophecies in The Books, the ones for the Messiah, were the ways to foretell the True Messiah from any false prophets. If there were three candidate messiahs, and all three fulfilled a prophecy in three different ways, what's the point of the prophecy?
It shouldn't be a trick for God to prophecize. The whole point of booksical prophecy is to show that it's from God, not just someone capitalizing on a loophole.
If it says king, it should be a king.
If it says he'll have an army, why would anyone expect anything less than an army?
Can't really see a sneaky prophecy being of any value in giving the vital statistics of the Messiah...
