Not that it has anything to do with the price of tea in China, but, yes, I think Malkut's quotation is from the writings of Saint Augustine of Hippo.
There was/is another Saint Augustine -- Augustine of Canterbury, the great missionary to England (who wasn't really the very first Christian missionary there, but that's another story). But Augustine of Hippo wrote a lot more and had a much greater influence on the shape of Roman Catholic theology, especially where the questions of the nature of man and the means of salvation are concerned.
