        <![CDATA[ Q:  Matthew 27:45 says that from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.   And, in 27:51-53, Matthew reports a great earthquake, which resulted in the opening of some tombs.  Following that, Many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many. 			<description><![CDATA[ <span style="font-weight: bold;">If that were the case it would seem odd then that only saints&#39; bodies should be exposed due to an earthquake, and not the
hundreds and thousands on non-saints. Obviously it sounds more like something happening exclusively to holy types.

			<description><![CDATA[ Excellent discussion you two, I enjoyed reading it.  Why can't we take it for what it says?  Why must we jump through philosophical hoops to attempt to explain what is obviously there?  Why can't Waterrock just admit that the writer of Matthew intended to infer that the body of the saints were risen to life and people saw them?  God raised Jesus (so the story goes) why can't he raise the bodies of the saints? ]]></description>
