        <![CDATA[ Q:  Did Jesus curse the fig tree before the Cleansing of the Temple, or afterwards?  Matthew 21:19-20 says that Jesus cursed the fig tree and proceeded to cleanse the temple.  But in the parallel-passage in Mark 11:12-14, Jesus visited the Temple, and then left, and then cursed the fig tree, and then proceeded to cleanse the temple. 			<description><![CDATA[ I agree. It's been known for quite some time that Matthew and Luke based their gospels on Mark's. They also took some liberties with the order of events to fit their own narrative needs. <div class='signature'>If God wanted us to be Atheists we'd be born that way.</div> ]]></description>
